Boys golf defeats West Aurora


The boys golf team advanced to sectionals with a second-place finish at regionals.

The Minooka boys varsity golf barely squeezed by with a win over West Aurora.

The ending score was 177-178 with Minooka winning by 1. The competition took place Sept. 17 at 4 p.m. at Heritage Bluffs in Channahon. 

“Against West Aurora we did not play well, and we were extremely fortunate to come out with a win,” head coach Brian Petrovic, said. 

The top golfers at this meet were seniors Luke Petrovic, who shot a 37, and Kevin Phillips, who shot at 46. 

“Luke has been our No. 1 player all year and has been very consistent,” coach Petrovic said. 

West Aurora went back and forth with the lead the entire game.
