In his first year as the girls head tennis coach, Trevor Shields is going for it all.

Shields has high goals for the girls for this season.

“We want to stay competitive, particularly within our conference, the SPC,” Shields said.

The girls had a successful 2019. Their overall record was 6-4.

In their postseason run, they finished second in the Lockport sectional and qualified two double teams for the state finals.

So far this year in head-to-head play, Minooka is 5-1 overall and 3-1 in the SPC. They also won at Oswego in round-robin play.  Doubles team Mariah Duarte and Kaleigh Serra is undefeated.

Their next competition is Sept. 17 at Plainfield South.
