The Minooka boys lacrosse team is looking to bounce back this year, following a 4-13 season. The team is returning many players from last year’s team.

Returning junior Zach Prohaska has a lot of high hopes for the season after a disappointing 2018 year.

“The expectations are to win more games and work more as a team and just having fun,” he said.

When asked about individual goals, Prohaska found the team as more important.

“My individual goals are to work on passing the ball around more to get my teammates more open shots on goal,” he said.

The Minooka squad needs a lot of physicality to start the season strong. They have the mindset of “good defense leads to good offense.”

“I am looking forward to winning games and hitting people,” said returning junior Jake Mensik.

Mensik wants a good season and being a leader for the Indians in their 2019 campaign.

“We need to hustle as a team in order to win games,” he said.

Minooka plays its home opener at the stadium tonight at 7 p.m. against Batavia.
