The Minooka freshman boys basketball beat Romeoville 42-40 on Feb. 8.

Minooka only gave up 18 points in the second half.

“We played really good half-court defense, but gave up too many offensive rebounds that turned into points for them,” coach Trinity Saelens said.

Ivan Dahlber, and Darren Anderson both had good games for Minooka.

“I think I played good” Dahlberg said. “They had a good big man, and I had to work harder on defense,”

Romeoville had a well-rounded team, according to Dahlberg.

“I locked down their point guard only let him score three points,” Anderson said.

Anderson said that Romeoville had good offense and they were fast-paced.

Romeoville would play a zone and that Minooka needed to pick up the pace on offense so they could not be able to set their zone, Saelens said.
