Among the top bowlers of the day, senior Gina Russell placed first individually with 1415 pins, a 235 average, and a high game of 279.

Following Russell in second place was junior Alyssa Ritchie. She finished with 1370 pins, a 228 average, and a high game of 290.

Senior Kristina Sickler was also with Russell and Ritchie in having a great day. Sickler finished in fourth place with 1294 pins, a 215 average, and a high game off 300.

Sickler had her first-ever 300 perfect game, a milestone in her high school bowling career.

“I was so happy for her, and I am sad to see her leaving after this year. She’s an amazing bowler, and I hope she comes back next year to visit,” said junior Alyssa Ritchie.

The girls team qualified for state after placing third at sectionals on Feb. 9 and is looking to do well on Saturday at the IHSA State Finals in Rockford at The Cherry Bowl.
