The varsity cheerleading team had their conference competition at Joliet West on Jan. 19. They ended up taking 6th place in the SPC conference.

They were not really happy with their results.

“I think we could have  done better than we did,” Easton Otto, junior, said. “We were really nervous during warmups,  and I think It really got to people.”

Some of the leaders for the Indians were juniors and sophomores since they had the most experience competing in the SPC Competition last year, too.

“I think we could have changed our attitude about our team and be more positive and worked harder in practice,” Mariah McPherson, junior, said.

The Indians felt if they  would have made those changes that they would have had a better result with how they placed at the competition.

There were some goods things that came out of the competition.

“I think our tumbling was the best and how we improved improved from other competitions,” Ella Letitherer, sophomore, said.
