Despite a poor first half, the Minooka girls basketball team beat Plainfield North 52-37 on Jan. 25.

Although Minooka trailed at halftime, they bounced back in the second half.

“The first half was terrible, it was the worst half I’ve ever seen us play,” said head coach Jeff Easton.

However, the girls did not give up after as senior Cierra Bachmann scored 17 points to help secure the win.

“I never look at the score. I just pay attention to the game and just scoring as many points as I can,” said Bachmann.

Better execution by the team helped pull out the win.

“In the second half, really we all needed to know we just needed to play better and that’s what we did,” said junior Sophie Darden.

As of Feb. 5, the girls have a record of 24-3 which is tied for most wins ever.

“I feel very confident on where were heading as a team and into the postseason,” said Easton.
