Mistakes at Lincoln-Way East’s cheer competition on Saturday, Dec. 8, prompted the Minooka cheerleaders to evaluate themselves.

“It wasn’t our best performance,” Mia Bibian, freshman, said.

The girls got 12th out of 18 teams, with a few flaws.

“We had a stunt fall, and a tumbling touch,” Savannah Schumacher, freshman, said.

A stunt fall and a tumbling touch are two big mistakes. A stunt fall is when the girl at the top of the lift falls too early. A tumbling touch is when a girl does her tumbling and runs into someone or something.

The girls agreed they had more in them.

“We could’ve done a lot better,” Bibian said.

They are looking forward to improving and competing again.

“We need to work harder … we need to be more like a team,” Schumacher said.
