Minooka came away with two regional championships over the weekend.  Here’s a short recap.

Friday, Feb. 2

Cheerleading: finishes 22nd in the prelims of the State Finals; do not advance to Day 2

Girls Basketball: win over Plainfield East, 55-53. Jenna Roberts hit a game-winner at the buzzer.

Boys Basketball: loss to Plainfield East, 55-41.

 

Saturday, Feb. 3

Girls Bowling: wins the regional championship. Advances to sectionals next weekend at Illinois Valley Super Bowl in Peru.

Wrestling: wins the regional championship, advancing 12 individuals to sectionals in Alton and advancing as a team to the dual team sectional. The 12 individuals are Jack McClimon (106), Austin Markee (120), Zach McDowell (126),Dominic Ruettiger (132), Adam McDowell (138), Noah Boles (145), Jake Ryan (152), Alec Dufour (170), Connor Colbert (182), Drew Gutknecht (195), Connor Briley (220), and Derek Wentworth (285).
